Development of China's wood flooring industry is amazing. Now China could produce many kinds of wood flooring, has good sales channels and after-sale service. Data from China National Forest Product Industry Association shows, production of China's wood flooring was above 300 million m2 in 2005, including 190 million m2 of laminate flooring, 50 million m2 of solid wood flooring, 46 million m2 of engineered flooring and 6 million m2 of bamboo flooring. The capacity of China's wood flooring was 570 million m2, so there is potential capability in China wood flooring industry. By forecasting, the gross production will reach 350 million m2 in 2006.

The export amount grew rapidly. Data from China National Forest Product Industry Association shows China's wood flooring export is 98.85 million m2, and the export value is 969.72 million USD in 2005. Comparing with 2004, those have increased by 114.89% and 66.16%. China is becoming a great power of produce and export.

In 2006 China carried out a series of policies to adjust tax for wood flooring in order to optimize the structure of Chinese wood flooring industry, improve the quality, lead the orderly competition of the market and protect Chinese existing forest resource. Foreign importers thought unanimously that the change of the policies would have strong impact on their wood flooring import.
