Personal profile |

Mr. Gene Birilorang is a Natural Resource Economist by profession and currently works as a forestry consultant.
As a senior civil servant in the 1970s, Mr. Birikorang developed a rich professional background that brought him in the 1980s to the positions of Project Analyst of the former Ghana Industrial Free Zones Authority, Chief Economist and later Ag Chief Director in Ghana's Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources where the record recovery of the forest industry and mining sector through economic rehabilitation measures in the 1980s is partly credited to his technical leadership in the ministry.
He has been working as a full time consultant for close to 20 years, including periods as a Private International Consultant working on International Donor-Assisted projects in Ghana and participation in foreign missions as a forestry expert. In recent times, he has been with international groups on a research work on alternative forest tenure and business models for bringing about economic growth and poverty reduction to the West and Central African regions.
His experience extends from forest policy analysis, public and private sector dialogue and negotiations of policy reforms, institutional building for forest products inspection and marketing to forest industry analysis and trade association development and international trade policy development.
Presently, Mr. Birikorange is the Chief Executive Officer of HAMILTON RESOURCES AND CONSULTING p.l.l.c., a natural resource management and auditing consulting firm based in Ghana.
