China Wood Import & Export Conference was held successfully in Shanghai on October 28-30 of 2003. Nearly 250 delegates from 17 countries all over the world attend this conference.

2003 China Wood Export & Import Conference, focused on China Wood Products export and China wood raw material import,  was organized by China Wood  International Inc, supported by Wood Resource International, R.E.Taylor & Associates, Japan Lumber Journal and <International Wood Industry> magazine, and sponsored by Jiangsu Shengyang Industrial Joint-Stock Co.,Ltd.

Mr. Li Hongfan, president of China Wood International made opening speeches at the beginning of the conference. He has been serving for wood industry since 1992. Mr. Ralph (Bean Deputy Director of Agriculture Trade Office of USA in China), Mr. Xu Wenhua (Director of Shanghai Wood Industry Association) and Mr. Xia Youzhong (General Manager of Jiangsu Shengyang Industrial Joint-Stock Co.,Ltd) made the opening addresses followed.

Event highlight include main presentation, company self-introduction and net-working time.

All the main presentations are made by local and international experts with years of industry experience, including “The Trend of Wood Supply and Demand?/b> made by Mr. Zhu from Timber Distribution Association, “U.S. Market: Where (and How) do Chinese Imports Fit In??made by Russell Taylor of R.E. Taylor & Associates, “Sources of Raw Material for the Chinese Wood Products Industry?made by Robert Flynn of Wood Resource International, “Brazil: Exporting Pine to the U.S. Market ?a Success Story?/b> made by Robert Donnelly of R.H Donnelly & Associates, and “China Wood Product Export?by Li Hongfan of China Wood International.

Some of the famous companies with abundant international trade experience were invited to present themselves on the conference, including Georgia-Pacific, Northwest Hardwoods, International Paper, Maruhon, Woodgrain Millwork, and Jiangsu Shengyang Industrial Joint-Stock Co.,Ltd.

Small exhibitions were also opened during conference time. Companies can get the good information from booth & communication. The Card Garage is designed for information exchange. Anyone can put their business card into the bags he interested in. Coffee break, buffet lunch and welcome reception provided a cozy environment for getting to know new friends.

On the third day of the conference, the attendees were organized to visit a wood door and flooring manufacturer of Huili Group to let foreign companies to know more Chinese enterprises.

2003 China Wood Import & Export Conference ended up successfully with the support from companies and organizations.  2004 China Wood Import & Import Conference has been starting the preparation.
