According to the statistics from Nanjing custom, the volume and value of log imported through Jiangsu Port were 5.656 million m3 and $ 1.25 billion in the first three quartersof this year, which decreased by 8.3% and 1.2% respectively compared to the same period of last year.
The log imported through Jiangsu Port is mainly from Papua New Guinea, Africa and Russia. In the first three quarters of this year, the volume of log imported from the above areas were 1.744 milliom m3, 1.263 million m3 and 1.125 million m3, which deceased by 4.3%, 24.7% and 15.6% respectively. The importing volume of those three areas took a percentage of 73.1% of the total volume in the first three quarters of this year in China, reducing by 5.4% compared to the same period of last year. However, the average price of the log imported through Jiangsu Port was $ 220.5/m3, which increased by 7.7%.
