It is reported that Russian prime minister Putin has declared that the new tariff policy will be postponed for 9-10 months, which is going to be implemented on Jan,1 2009 according to the original plan, relieving the severe impact on Russias forestry industry from the global financial crisis and creating good ambience for the Russian-European Union Summit. The new policy was called a "prohibitive" export tax policy by Russian official aiming at suppporting their native deep-processing industry of timber. However, as soon as the news was broke out, the opprobrium falls on Russia Government from other European countries demanding that not permit Russias tering WTO. At present, the global financial crisis modifies the antinomy of all sides.
