Solid wood engineered flooring has become the main trend of consumption for solid wood flooring in 2008. Despite that the overall flooring industry declined by 10%, the distribution of solid wood engineered flooring increased by 30% with an annual output of over 80 million m3 in 2008. In contrast, the market share of traditional solid wood flooring is decreasing and will probably be replaced by solid wood engineered flooring in the near future.
